A VPN is supposed to hide your real IP address, but sometimes it can leak. A VPN leak means websites can still see your original IP even when your VPN is on.
How to check for a VPN leak in 30 seconds:
First, go to our homepage without VPN and note your IP address and location. For example, if you are in Colombo, it will show Colombo and Dialog Axiata or SLT.
Second, turn ON your VPN and connect to another country, like Germany or USA.
Third, refresh our homepage tool again.
If your location still shows your real city like Colombo, then your VPN is leaking. If it shows Germany or USA, your VPN is working correctly.
What causes VPN leaks? The most common causes are WebRTC leaks in your browser, DNS leaks, or using a weak free VPN app. WebRTC is a browser feature that can reveal your real IP even with VPN on.
How to fix a VPN leak? You can disable WebRTC in your browser settings, use a trusted VPN with leak protection, and always test your connection before browsing.
Our IP Pulse tool helps you check VPN status, DNS, and IP leak status in one click. Testing your VPN regularly keeps your privacy safe online.
